Humane Bites #135: It’s HSUS’s Meeting, They Can Cry if They Want to

Daily clippings culled from all over the electronic news world. (E-mail submissions for tomorrow.)
- After HSUS disinvited several attendees (ouch) to its South Dakota Meeting, the venue disinvited HSUS
- Really, HSUS? Prairie dogs? REALLY?
- More HSUS shareholder cracktivism
- Donated to HSUS in the last ten years? You might have helped HSUS fund its elephant birth control research (because what we really want endangered species to do is reproduce less)
- Your Daily Shelter: Pennsylvania’s Better Days Animal League (Donate. Volunteer. Adopt.)

10 years to study elephant contraception? Unbelievable. This is the same group that supports mandatory spay/neuter out of one side of their mouth, and out of the other side cries about how humans interfere too much with how an animal lives, breeding dogs and cats is bad, breeding food animals is bad - but it’s OK to totally eliminate an animal’s possibility of breeding.
I can’t wait until November when my cat and I get to go to the local Humane Society of Marion County “hot dogs and cool cats” event. I would like my cat to be outfitted in a HumaneWatch tee.
The volunteers at my local Humane Society make my community a happier place for the homeless animals. Check out the Humane Society of Marion County FB page and look at all they try to do.
The reason they are doing this is simple, they only believe animals should breed if humans have nothing to do with them. TO these animal welfare zealots, animals living in the wild = absolute idillic bliss, but animals + humans = eternal evil on the part of the humans and eternal agony suffered by the animals. That’s why they want to ban and kill all exotic pets, ban breeders, ban working animals, ban the use of all animal products - unless of course, it’s to feed your “companion animals” “furkids” which they also believe have been put into the situation of being your pets which is wrong to them. It’s also why they support the animal pounds (the pc term is ‘shelter’ but really - shelters are for humans, the pound is where pet raiders steal and make a proffit off people’s pets and false accusations of animal abuse. Remember David Garcia? You’d be surprised just how animal welfare/rights extremist these animal “shelters” (pounds) really are and how they contribute to the problem of false accusations of animal abuse.
Remember your animals will always be there for you. My cat Aerial is laying here helping me type this now. While her brother is sleeping.
I love all animals and they truly are YOUR best friend!
As for the prairie dogs wait til the west river ranchers in SD here about that. That should seal the deal on keeping them out of SD.
If animal rights took all their money and energy and connections and used it towards a human issue like cancer or diabetes or homeless humans that is think of all they could do.
If we treat our animals with respect and concern we can move forward with research on cancer and other diseases, because not one medicine or treatment was conducted on a human that was not perfected on an animal. We cannot rid ourselves of God’s creatures, we must learn to coexist. We moved into the animals’ homes, not the other way around
Uncle Jessie I like your post—I’ve been homeless before, and seen people die from the the things you just said. The HSUS and PETA are just a bunch of worthless no-goods giving good honest people a hard time. There should be a law against the way they operate!
Let’s see: The H$U$ posts a PUBLIC NOTICE in a PUBLIC FORUM, stating that they are holding a meeting in a PUBLIC VENUE to discuss PUBLIC POLICY ISSUES, then when people they hate RSVP, they send out a retraction stating it wasn’t REALLY a public meeting after all, and YOU’RE not invited…
I believe I mentioned the word “hypocrites”. I now want to upgrade that to “liars”.
Hey, David, I’m curious if you happened to notice this little tidbit on the same page as the Prairie Dog story: “The HSUS helped remove and shelter 150-plus cats from a filthy, unsafe situation in Wyoming…”
Two guesses where you wind up if you click on the link?
I sent a little love-letter to the e-mail addy included in the sobbing appeal for a large donation, asking for proof of everything they claimed in the appeal. How much you want to bet I either receive no response, or I receive a screechy AR rant?
it is not due to animals that people die it is to human ignorance and selfishness. take care of God’s creatures and each other and this world does not have to see kids kidnapped murdered and neglected or tied to tables or living on the streets with thier parents and alone. While I believe everyone has a right to an opinion Regan I believe you need more information before you speak. It has not been animals that have gotten the earth in the shape it is in it is humans the supposedly higher species. Of course it was humans that determined they were the higher species
Cindy, who cares what you say? It doesn’t make sense. Just a bunch of hot air. Why don’t you go sink your teeth in a big juicy T-bone and you will fill a whole lot better about life in general?
I know a lot of people that drive 300 to 400 miles just to go prairie dog hunting on week ends they have a blast and the ranchers love to see them come and rid their property of vermin, I’ve been invited but never went, I like bear hunting.
cindy I have all the information I need your the one thats short sighted.
a sock puppit ? ya.
Do you at least eat what you kill and what would you think if the opened a hunting season on arrogant people that think the earth belongs to them and everything on it is put there for thier amusement
Cindy I shoot with a camera so i do not eat them, bears that is.
cindy I hunt and trap for profit not food.
Regan, I am so glad to hear that. I know we eat the animals that are here and use them for research, and to tell you the truth I would rather use prisoners on death row for research. Sorry I mistook your camera for a rifle.
Cindy I just don’t go along with HSUS. I am a coonhunter and I have lots of guns, and I have dogs that hunt.
Cindy, think back to who and what planted the poison seed of propaganda in you that left you pushing to force the use of any group of your fellow citizens as substitutes for animals used in scientific experiments? If you’re truly 100% opposed to “animal” experiments, why don’t you step forward and volunteer or volunteer your children to become the subjects of what are only initially appropriate to be set up as experiments on animals? This is not a personal attack on you. It’s simply a couple of questions asked to get you to think more deeply about specifically what it is you’re really advocating.

If we treated our animals better maybe we could find it in our hearts to treat each other better after all we are all God’s creatures no matter how many legs we get around on
