Yes, the Ohio footage is despicable, but once again it was most definitely NOT undercover. The employee was in close proximity to the photographer and even spoke on camera as he bragged about his behavior. This is the third of fourth such alleged undercover video that clearly shows two employees working together to create a video for HSUS. Yet again, no one seems to be concerned about prosecuting the photographer. Why not? IS he or she not equally guilty of this abusive behavior that appears to have continued for several days?
Any inside scoop on this Mercy for Animals group that released the Conklin Dairy video? It seems unbelievable to me that
a. a sane person (or people) would behave in the manner depicted…sociopathic behavior to say the least
b. someone would stand by and tolerate the extreme abuse for 30 days just to have it on film…and not step in and stop it, or call the authorities?
c. a person who earns a living milking cows would allow them to be treated in this manner, knowing that stress, fear, pain, etc. inhibits milk let-down and production.
Not saying the video was staged….but suspicious, especially that it is on an OHIO dairy when HSUS is active in OHIO currently, trying to get enough signatures for a ballot initiative and only has 30 more days to secure over 2/3 of the number of signatures required? Just seems like a lot to swallow. Either way, the moron performing the abuse, the one filming it, and the owner who allowed it all should have a thorough psychiatric exam and be banned from ever owning animals (or reproducing themselves!) in the future.
I agree, I think it is crazy how these people can watch this abuse for a WHOLE MONTH and do nothing AND when they choose to bring it to light they call the media not the authorities.
Mercy For Animals has a new office in Dallas, Texas, then they have the one in Ohio and I believe one in Chicago! Since the Dallas office is NEW and the legislative session in Texas will start in January of 2011 and run til June 1, I would think Texas people need to watch out.
I did see on their website that they are going to be doing handouts at DART (Dallas Area Rapid Transit) stations about town and outside some rock concerts, trying to get more vegans on their side and AR extremists.

Have you seen the dairy farm investigation? It’s not pretty at all. In fact it’s funny that Gary Conklin—the owner of the farm—said he doesn’t condone animal abuse on his farm, but he was documented in the video doing the same thing as the other employee. I read this morning that one employee was charged with 12 counts of animal cruelty (pending possibly more charges). Good, it’s people like him that ruin agriculture.
