Humane Bites #72: Jordan Wine Walks It Back?
Clippings culled from all over the electronic news world. (E-mail me with submissions for tomorrow.)
-
Ag blogger thanks Jordan Vineyard & Winery for redirecting fundraiser money to a local pet shelter instead of HSUS
- Is HSUS talking out of both sides of its mouth about the Ohio dairy investigation?
- HSUS CEO Wayne Pacelle is whining about us. Again. To anyone who will listen.
- Letter writer: Wisconsin DNR should partner with straight-A groups, not the "F" and "C-minus" HSUS
- Yet another local pet shelter is dangerously underfunded. Gee ... Why would that be?
- Your Daily Shelter: The Oregon Humane Society (Donate. Volunteer. Adopt.)
Comments
theanimalrescuesite is just another HSUS front - NO money goes to buy dog food or support shelters, rescues, or adoption programs. The bulk of the donations goes to the Fund For Animals - HSUS legislative branch.
The Richmond County Daily Journal posts an interesting article covering the struggles of their Richmond County Humane Society Shelter with one frightening reference that sends chills down my spine. As a retired educator, I was horrified to read that this shelter “supplies 4,000 Richmond County kindergarten through fourth graders with KIND news, a monthly publication put out by the Humane Society of the United States.”
PARENTS: HAVE YOU TAKEN THE TIME TO READ THIS NEWSLETTER THAT SO QUIETLY COMES HOME WITH YOUR CHILDREN’S PAPERWORK?
This is what you will find in this not so innocent newsletter; negative references to farming, hunting, fishing, trapping and animal related ownership and activities. Cleverly worded passages will teach your children HSUS propaganda and a vegan way of life.
Don’t believe me, well go to their website, search for HSUS KIND News. You will especially love the cute cartoon at the top of their banner showing a child with a Sherlock Holmes Hat on while peeking back and forth out of a bush with a magnifying glass. This one simple visual alone, forget the words, encourages children to spy on their family and neighbors and then report what they see to the authorities.
Of course, your children are also encouraged to actively participate in legislating, etc. against anything that does not support the HSUS agenda.
PLEASE, parents, take the time to read these newsletters.
As a classroom teacher, I would have been fired if I had allowed this propaganda in my classroom. Please protect our children from these radical animal rights activists.
Laurie, don’t give to the Fund for Animals —they are HSUS

Can you check out theanimalrescuesite.com? I thought it seemed fairly legitimate, what with saying it’s donating food, but it also says that it is donating the “equivalent” of food, and one of its benefactors is the Fund for Animals—which is related to HSUS!! So, before I “click to donate” every day, I want to make sure that I’m not giving to the HSUS. Does anyone know whether this legitimately helps shelter pets, and not just goes towards big salaries and the destruction of animal agriculture?
