I am a dog breeder and proud of it. I would like to invite everyone who is able to attend, to the PPA seminar at the Moberly College in Moberly, Mo on June 18 & 19th. There will be lots of information on all the issues we are concerned about. For more info, go to their website

EEEEEK!!

Your Daily Shelter: Minnesota’s Animal Humane Society

Please don’t support this facility.  There are much better choices throughout Minnesota.  The AHS is a dyed-in-the-wool HSUS acolyte, actively lobbying for laws to restrict dog breeding; employing two humane agents that would make Scottlund Haisley proud; killing ALL feral cats that come into its custody (“feral” being defined as “any cat that doesn’t cuddle on being dumped in a shelter after trying to fend for itself with no street skills”); has a lawyer willing to publicly distort Minnesota law on handling of strays in an attempt to justify its cat-killing practices; euthanizes enough animals to maintain its inventory at 50% of capacity; imports small, saleable dogs from other states to raise funds (to augment its $20 million in assets); pays lip service to “figuring out how to go NoKill” while excluding from its study group the actual NoKill shelter in Minnesota that is a nationally-recognized leader…I could go on, and will provide links to details if anyone wishes to have more info about this operation.

I am in awe of the fact that people are so cruel and continue to treat animals as property (as they are in law) or inventory rather than living feeling beings we should care for and protect! As far as the circus they said they had cleaned up their act and it angers me that i have to tell my 9 yr old son that we can’t go because they are mean to their animals and all parents should do the same…

Count me as another person who is shocked that the MN AHS would be a “shelter of the day.” They are a mini HSUS. Normally you get it right but in this case? Very, very wrong.
