The Visual HSUS

The legendary animal behaviorist Temple Grandin says that other than autistic “pattern” thinkers (like herself), most people are either verbal thinkers or visual thinkers.

So far, HumaneWatch has focused mostly on words—tens of thousands of them—to show how deceptive and unscrupulous the Humane Society of the United States can be. But beginning today, we’re going to take better care of you “visual thinkers” out there.

We’re pleased to present the first installment of The Visual HSUS, a graphic series that we hope will make you think about the animal rights group in a new way. We hope you pass these pieces around to your friends, and we really hope you learn something new from each one.

Each graphic will be available as a poster, too. They’re perfect as gifts to veterinarians, pet shelter staff, classroom teachers, and animal lovers everywhere.

Today’s visual is titled “HSUS By the Numbers.” (Click on the image below to view the PDF.) Stay tuned as we present a new on every two weeks until—well … until the Humane Society of the United States starts behaving like a real humane society. And if you'd like personal copies of today's visual, you can order postcard-size and poster-size versions on Zazzle.

These numbers came from where?  Dates?  Some identification would be helpful. .  otherwise, it looks like something my kindergartner puts together.  But hers are at least beautiful.

printed and folded in half to show the graphics onthe outsides, these fit nicely into the front cover of Pacelle’s book for sale.
you can even be eco friendly and use the back to print out the HW list of Things You Didn’t Know About HSUS…or what I’ve done, a request to please put the book down and instead donate the purchase price to a local shelter.

I think it would make a great place-mat for restaurants or napkins. can you imagine, how upset h$u$ would be if the fast food joints, they have all those stocks in had that printed on their napkins. It would wake a lot of people up that don’t know what h$u$ is really about. I think it would be a good idea. How about it HW. Can we carry it out?

Putting these up at the vet clinic…

Regan, AWESOME IDEA!

I love the idea and the poster.  However, if I didn’t already know what the “HSUS” was, I would have had no idea what the poster was talking about.  Most of the general public knows about “the Humane Society,” not the “HSUS.”

I would suggest you make it a bit clearer exactly what the initials stand for.

Great ideas -
I received yet another plea from H$U$ yesterday.  I think for the first time (at least that I noticed) it came with a postage paid return envelope.  I chose to write a personal and polite note for Wayne.  I must print the visual flyer & tuck it in as well.  Wonder how many drones we could reach if we all did the same?

Larry has not been following the documentation for the numbers for more than a year, but they are all in the archives for anyone to read.  some would rather have NO information and just a large photo of a pathetic dog or cat with a caption that just reads"For only $19 a month, you can help dogs like this one who are in need.”
