If you missed the Missouri State Fair this year, then you missed HumaneWatch. No, we weren’t actually there—but some crafty agriculture advocates and other animal lovers made sure fairgoers thought twice about associating the Humane Society of the United States with pet shelters.
One group made hundreds (perhaps thousands, according to one witness) of mini hand fans out of one of our ads, and handed them out at Saturday’s concert featuring HSUS spokes-strummer Sheryl Crow.
And the Missouri Pork Association’s promotional booth wasn’t just about pigs this year. It also featured the dogs on our ads, blown up to poster-size.
Reminder: All the HumaneWatch ads and handouts are available free for anyone to download and print. We have bundles of bumper stickers available at cut-rate prices. (Just e-mail for details.) And if anyone out there wants super-high-resolution PDFs for poster printing, just let us know.
