Jake Oster

Jake Oster is the former director of grassroots advocacy at HSUS.

One of the projects he was responsible for in 2007, an initiative with the Idaho Sportsmen’s Caucus Advisory Council to stop "canned hunts" in Idaho, was met with round disapproval by hunters in that state for being organized by a national organization. "The ISCAC has become partners with the Humane Society of the United States, an organization that has cost outdoor sportsmen millions of dollars over the years fighting their senseless lawsuits," said one critic. "An organization whose ultimate goal is to end hunting, trapping and fishing and just about any and all recreational activities that involve animals, has been invited to partner with a so-called sportsman’s group."
